    Very good

The hotel is quite O.K., the personal is very nice, the hotel is very well located, on the canal.

The rooms are small, but I believe all the buildings are the same.

the room was not cleaned and we were not noticed about this. after going up to the room and down we waited for 2 hours for cleaning the room.

Smell of weed from the neighbour's room

    Fabulous

Very quiet location, but still not far from the town centre. We needed a 5-bed room, and it was spacious enough. Ideal for families or groups of friends. Staff extremely kind and helpful.

    Fabulous

Really nice hotet in excellent location near lovely and well-known Magere Brug - "Skinny Bridge" in a quieter area of Amsterdam but within easy reach of other great spots and famous parts of the city. There is a dutch opera building nearby and also a canalbus stop where you can hop on the boat for a cruise across the amazing canals. The hotel is perfect for city breaks ;) The facilities are good, there's a nice kitchen area where you can have a cup of tea or coffee or order a breakfest for 9 euro. They also have home made juce drinks which are "lekker" (means tasty in Dutch) too! Our room was nice and clean with monochromatic design, lots of white-black-grey combo ;) Spacious bed, tiny bathroom though but enough to have a relaxing shower. Staff was friendly and supportive as well! Highly recommended!

There's a tv in a room but it seems our voice button on a remote control was kinda blocked so you couldn't hear enough, but hey we hardly watched tv anyway! (Btw they have bbc not only dutch programmes). There was no shower gel provided but shampoo only.

    Fabulous

The friendliness of the staff, always smiling, always available and helpful. The layout of the room for 4 people, efficient, comfortable. The location of the hotel, close to many neighborhoods in Amsterdam

In the room of 4, it would have been appropriate to include 2 sinks

The hotel was very quirky. The steps really are steep, but this didn't worry me as I had very little luggage. The room had everything I needed, and is a good place to stay if all you're looking for is a place to sleep and store your things. It's also located in what seemed like a very safe and quiet area of the city, with a beautiful little working drawbridge around the corner. I didn't try the breakfast as I had to leave too early to catch a train, but the staff were quite welcoming, and generally helpful.

I requested, and received, a non-smoking room, but because it was located on the top floor, the smoke from other windows blew into mine. The room itself was quite clean, but old in the sense of being well used. The bathroom door would not shut properly, rocking with the wind and making noise. It's lucky I was in the room on my own and didn't need to close the door at all.

    Location

The hotel is best described as a hostel. There is no elevator but their are rooms n the 5th floor! Rooms are spartan and not sound insulated from each other.

    Fabulous

Great place, except, if you get one of the higher floors, that means above second floor, you may kill yourself, as the stairs are narrow and steep and yes, no lift....If you are a climber.....I strongly recommend this hotel. Clean, well designed rooms, great location. Only one of the reception staff was a bit of an idiot the others were great.

steep, narrow staircase to floor 5...........

It is located on an attractive canal a short walk from the number 1-9 trolley.

We have been actively traveling for over a quarter of a century and this is one of the two-worst hotel values we ever recall. The room was the size of a large walk-in closet and the bed was less than a standard double. The worst feature was the one electrical outlet that was up near the ceiling, so if you wanted to use an electrical shaver or charge your laptop, you literally had to stand up, hold your item over your arms, and stabilize it...there was no furniture to rest it on. We stayed on the night of a major news development in the us and the television was permanently keyed too low for us to hear (though we are a mature couple, we can hear within a normal range...the volume, with about 10 increments, was permanently fixed at 3, not audible at all, and there was no subtitling. We were told it was to keep other guests from being disturbed...walls are paper thin...but three rooms down from us, someone was blasting a European shopping channel at full volume somehow. )The bath was so tiny that we wondered how anyone with even a minor weight issue could use the toilet! The lobby was clean, but the upstairs carpet was dirty. We needed to borrow an outlet adapter, and were directed to the vending machine to buy one...for 12 euro for a single small adapter. Finally, breakfast was not provided, and it cost 12 euro for two guests and was of poor quality. Our bill was $200 us without breakfast...run from this one. It was an awful, awful value, though in a pretty neighborhood.

    Superb

Great central location, opposite Hermitage Museum which currently (temporarily) houses the Van Gough paintings. Large family room on 1st floor was clean, quiet and offered good view over the canal. Free coffee machine was useful

No parking & local car park is very expensive

    Cleanliness ok. Breakfast decent price.

Heater off, and must know to find it and turn it on. Room claustrophobia inducing. Bed is stiff, TV impossible to watch comfortably.

    Superb

Convenient for Skinny bridge, Rembrandtsplein and Neiuwmarkt. Easy to walk to everywhere from - right next to Hermitage Art Centre. Free coffee and wifi.

Room needed a lick of paint on the windowsill - not that it bothered me much.
